BoaterCoupons.com is a brand operated by WakeWorks, LLC. WakeWorks also runs other boating and marine services. What that means for your information is spelled out in Section 3.
We collect what’s needed to get you real coupons from real local dealers: your name, email, phone number, ZIP code, the boat you own, and your claim history. We share your information only with the verified dealer(s) that honor coupons in your pack - that’s the service. Marketing from BoaterCoupons and affiliated WakeWorks brands happens only if you opt in. We never sell your information. You can unsubscribe at any time, and you can ask us to delete your information by emailing [email protected].
The rest of this policy is the detail behind that promise.
Information you give us. Your first and last name, email address, phone number, and ZIP code when you claim a coupon or pack, or join a notification list. Phone is required on every claim because dealerships need it to verify your coupons.
The boat you own. When you claim a savings pack we ask what boat you own, with an “I don’t own a boat yet” option. If you come back for another coupon we may ask you to fill in a short boater profile; it’s how we send you deals that are actually relevant instead of blasting everyone with the same thing. You can always pick “other” and answer in your own words, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Your claim history. Which coupons and packs you have claimed, confirmed, and redeemed, and when. This is how we honor your coupons and enforce one-per-person rules.
Information collected automatically. When you use the site, we receive your IP address, browser and device type, and an approximate location (your network’s postal code, provided by our hosting infrastructure) so we can show you deals that are actually usable near you. We use two small first-party cookies: one remembers the ZIP code you’re browsing deals for, and one, set only when you arrive from one of our own ads, notes which of our ads brought you, so we can tell which ones work. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking, and nothing we set follows you to other websites.
Email interaction data. Our email provider records standard delivery events (whether an email was delivered, opened, or a link was clicked) so we know your coupon actually reached you.
Consent records. When you claim, we record the date and time, your IP address, your browser information, the choices you made (such as the marketing box), and the exact wording of the consent language you saw. We keep this so we can always prove what you agreed to, and never claim you agreed to more.
We use your information to: deliver the coupons you claimed and confirm your email address; connect you with the verified dealer(s) honoring those coupons; tell you when your reserved pack activates because a verified dealer near you went live; send service messages about your claims (confirmations, coupon delivery, activation notices); choose which coupons to show and send you, based on your boater profile; notify you when a deal becomes available near your ZIP (only if you asked us to); prevent fraud and abuse of the site; and comply with the law.
Marketing email from BoaterCoupons and WakeWorks’ other boating brands goes out only under the marketing opt-in described in Section 3. BoaterCoupons itself never sends SMS to your phone number.
We do not use your information for anything else.
The verified dealer(s) honoring your coupons: this sharing is the service. When you claim, you direct us to share your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, and boat details with the verified dealer(s) that honor the coupons in your pack, so they can prepare your coupons, verify them, and contact you about them by phone, email, or text. We call this disclosure “the Service”: it happens at your direction, it is what you asked us to do, and coupons cannot be honored without it. We share your information only with the verified dealer(s) that honor coupons in your pack - that’s the service. If you claim a pack before a dealer serves your area, no dealer receives your information until a verified dealer near you goes live to honor your coupons. Each dealer receives your information into their own customer system. We never share your information with any other dealer, and never as part of a list.
WakeWorks’ own boating brands. BoaterCoupons.com is one of several boating and marine services operated by WakeWorks, LLC. If you checked the optional marketing box, we may email you deals and news from BoaterCoupons and WakeWorks’ other boating brands. Three things bound this, and we hold ourselves to all of them:
Service providers working for us. Like nearly every website, we use a small number of companies to run our infrastructure: database and application hosting, content delivery, and email delivery. These providers process your information only on our instructions and only to operate WakeWorks’ services. They are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of BoaterCoupons, our users, or others.
Business transfers. If WakeWorks, LLC or the BoaterCoupons brand is ever acquired or merged, your information may transfer to the successor, who must honor this policy or notify you of changes.
No other sharing, ever. We never sell your personal information, never rent or trade it, never share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and never send your information to data brokers or list sellers. The dealer disclosure above is not a sale: it happens at your direction, as the service you asked for. There is no version of our business where your email is the product.
Marketing is always opt-in: an unchecked box at claim time, never a condition of getting your coupons. Every marketing email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately and across every WakeWorks boating brand; one click, not one per brand. Unsubscribing stops deal emails; it does not stop the delivery of a coupon you actively request (those emails exist only because you asked for that coupon). If you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal suppression record of your email address; that record is how we make sure we never email you again.
Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we honor it by treating it as a marketing “no”: the marketing opt-in is suppressed for you and we do not ask. GPC never affects claiming coupons or the dealer disclosure that fulfills them, because that disclosure happens at your direction as the Service.
Coupon claim and consent records are kept for up to five years, so we can honor coupons, resolve disputes, and demonstrate compliance. Email subscription records are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, except for the suppression record described above. Notification-list entries are kept until we notify you or you ask us to remove them.
Deletion is real. Email [email protected] from the address on your claims, and we will delete your personal information: your name, email, phone number, ZIP, boat details, and boater profile are removed or redacted across every WakeWorks brand in one request. We keep only the minimal records the law requires (such as the suppression record that enforces your unsubscribe, and consent records with personal identifiers redacted).
You can ask us at any time to: tell you what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, across every WakeWorks brand, in one request. Email [email protected], and we’ll respond within 45 days, usually much sooner. We honor these requests for everyone regardless of where you live, including rights provided under state privacy laws such as California’s.
This section is for California residents and supplements the rest of this policy.
Categories of personal information we collect: identifiers (name, email address); contact information (email address, phone number); ZIP code; boat information and claim history (the boat you own, your boater profile, and the coupons and packs you have claimed and redeemed). We collect all of it directly from you or from your use of the site, as described in Section 1.
Purposes: delivering the coupons you claim, connecting you with the fulfilling dealer(s), service communications about your claims, marketing under your opt-in, fraud prevention, and legal compliance, as described in Section 2.
Recipients: the verified dealer(s) honoring your coupons. That disclosure happens at your direction and is performed as the Service, as described in Section 3. Service providers process information on our instructions only. There are no other recipients.
Sale and sharing: we do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The dealer disclosure is made at your direction as the service you requested. We honor Global Privacy Control signals by treating them as a marketing “no,” as described in Section 4.
Your rights: you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; the right to delete it; the right to correct it; the right to opt out of sale or sharing; and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. Coupons never depend on marketing consent, and exercising your rights never costs you anything.
How to exercise them: email [email protected]. We verify requests using the email address on your claims, respond within 45 days, and honor requests from authorized agents as California law provides.
BoaterCoupons is for adults. The site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including access controls and encrypted connections. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, but we collect little, share narrowly, and protect what we hold.
If we change this policy, we’ll update the effective date at the top, and for material changes we’ll say so plainly on the site. Two promises we will not walk back by quietly editing this page: we will never change this policy to retroactively permit selling your information, and we will never apply a broader use of information you already gave us without asking your permission first. A change in how we use your data applies going forward, to information collected after the change, not backward to information you gave us under a narrower promise.
